If you are struggling with Huck Finn, this site contains chapter summaries of the novel. It should not be used as a substitute for reading the novel but as an aid to comprehension. You can search for notes on other titles too.
Purdue Online Writing Lab
Click on "Instructional Handouts" under "Resources for Writers" and you will discover information encompassing everything from using commas to writing research papers and using MLA. It's an entire grammar book and style manual on your computer screen!
Perspectives in American Literature
This is a very useful site for contextualizing American literature, authors and literary periods. According to the site, it was "[f]irst published as a book (hence the site's format), this ongoing project is now available only online; it is a research and reference tool, not a term paper factory. Useful to Americans who have no or limited access to university libraries and academic databases, it is also helpful to international readers interested in American literature."

This website allows access to many complete literature texts including some on the University of Kansas "wish" list! After you access a title and find you don't have the ability to "unzip" zip files, click on "US-1 Text" and be patient for a lengthy download.
